Engine Log Books
Make sure that you comply with current regulations by keeping the appropriate machine and oil record books on board!
In the machine record book information regarding the running of the vessel's machines, generators, fuel, ballast tanks, fire equipment, maintenance, possible stoppages etc. is filled in. For Swedish commercial vessels below 20- and fishing vessels below 80 gross tonnes the "Kladd till Maskindagbok" is enough to comply. Other vessels are required to have the complete machine log book belonging to each flag state; X003E for Sweden, X536 or X543 for Norway and X070 for Denmark. In X008, Oil Record Book Part 1, information regarding the ships bunker oil is filled in which is mandatory for all vessels. X009, Oil Record Book Part 2, however is only a requirement for oil tankers and is filled in with information concerning the vessel's cargo.
